NYFW: Bibhu Mohapatra RTW Spring 2015 Favorite Looks!

This is a designer that I had never heard of before I was searching through style.com and came across their Spring 2015 presentation. I am officially lost for words about this collection. Let's be honest, no I'm not; I always have something to say! Stunning, daring, high end, classy, GORGEOUS! Let's just get into the looks that I am DYING over from this show.

I can't. I just cannot. This look just popped straight out of the matrix and this model is changing all of the rules about which pill to take. Not following? That's okay.. This look is futuristic in all the right ways. It is edgy and structured without being "foiled" and ugly. So let's get this look on one badass celeb or two.
Celebrity that I would style this on: Rosie Huntington Whitely. I would probably remove the sheer "wings" if you will and the matrix sunglasses, but keep the hair up and out of the face with a dark crimson lip. The perfect look for fall on a red carpet.

This dress is super conservative compared to my usual taste but it could be styled so many different ways. It is a great versatile piece that any collection could use.
Celebrity I would style this on: Kim Kardashian with a strappy shoe and a sleek ponytail. It just fits her signature style as of late. Also, Leighton Meester with a fuchsia/berry lip, tousled big curls and a plum statement shoe.

Let's just cut to the chase with this look; it's simple, sophisticated and lady like. I mean who else would I style this on? Let's be real.
Celebrity I would style this on: Kerry Washington. DUH! Minus that crazy hair.

Once again, this dress just screams Kerry Washington to me. It is classic, floral and streamlined, but let's give another celeb a chance to rock such a beautiful frock.
Celebrity I would style this on: KERRY WASHINGTON!!! But seriously, if not her then Cate Blanchett. She is about the only actress more lady like than Kerry. I would style Cate with a mauve-y, pink lip, slicked back low-do and a nude shoe of course.

This dress is heaven. I am a red lover and this dress just made me even more infatuated with the classic hue. This gown holds the most classic lady like silhouette and would look stunning on just about any celebrity that I could imagine. The sequined bold flowers and cascading sequins down the gown just add that extra bit of pizzazz required to end up on a best dressed list.
Celebrity I would style this on: Katie Holmes or Anne Hathaway with side swept hair & a bold red lip.

Needless to say I am slightly obsessed with this designer. I am always a fan of lady like silhouettes and classic hues and this designer seems to fancy both. I will definitely be keeping my eye on their looks in upcoming seasons and if I ever was fortunate enough to be able to style fashionistas, this designer would be one I would seek out!

NYFW: Carolina Herrera RTW Spring 2015 Favorite Looks!

Another day, another fashion show! So, who are we going to talk about today? Carolina Herrera!!! So excited to talk about this designers presentation because the looks are completely my taste. So let's cut the chit chat and get straight into these classy looks from one of my favorite designers.
All of these looks are from the Carolina Herrera Ready-To-Wear Spring 2015 Collection.

This color!!! Probably the main reason that I love this dress, but also because the square neckline and unique seam lines make it simple yet interesting. I can see this hue looking unreal on someone with caramel to dark skin.
Celebrity I would style this on: Freida Pinto with a sleek ponytail and an embellished belt and glowing neutral make up.

The detail on this dress is exquisite. Not only do I love the "layered" top look, but also the draping down the side to add some drama to an otherwise simplistic gown. Plus, this color is everything! The pale yellow hue of this dress is sure to flatter a wide array of skin tones and can be styled a million different ways.
Celebrity I would style this on: Olivia Munn. This color would compliment her skin tone beautifully and I would pair it with tousled locks and a bold ruby lip to really step this look up!

This dress; once again with the stunning pale yellow, but much more everyday. The sheer cut outs on the waist give it a little edge, plus the unique hemline add some extra dimension to this dress.
Celebrity I would style this on: Rachel McAdams at a photo call or charity event, with her super blonde blow out and a perfect pink pout.

Now, I will have to say that this dress is truly not one of my favorites of the show, but with that said, I can picture this gown on so many celebrities. This gown, on the right star, would be classic and beautiful. Plus, the design truly is stunning, just not to my particular taste.
Celebrity I would style this on: Kate Walsh with her deep red hair to one side would be so classic in this gown. Throw in a mauve lip and small simple jewelry; the look would be so timeless.

I am OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED with this gown! Match this flowy dream dress with the correct star and you are sure to end up on the best dressed list!
Celebrity I would style this on: I'm torn between Rachel Bilson and Mila Kunis on this one! Both I would style with a relaxed up do and a petal pink lip!

The structure of this dress is gorgeous; so interesting and invigorating for the eye to look at. This is a look that a nominee should wear to make a splash on the red carpet and really attract a lot of attention. White can be a tricky color to pull off, especially on a red carpet, so the right celeb would have to get their hands on this to make it work.
Celebrity I would style this on: Zoe Saldana. She is about the only actress that could wear this and shine through all of the structure. I would have her wear a watermelon lip and a heavy side part with large loose curls to combat the structure of the gown.

Hope you all enjoyed this review and keep your eye out because many more will be coming!!

NYFW: Badgley Mischka RTW Spring 2015 Favorite Looks!

New York Fashion Week is finally here!!!!! This will be my first post in a series of posts about my thoughts on the designers presentations and which celebrities I envision wearing these designer duds. I have so many shows that I want to discuss and honestly cannot decide which one I want to talk about first, so to make this decision easy we will go in ABC order (sort of... ) and start with Badgley Mischka! These are my favorite looks from the stunning presentation that these extraordinary gentleman put on for NYFW!
All of these looks are from the Badgley Mischka Ready-To-Wear Spring 2015 Collection.

This ethereal blue shade automatically caught my eye as I was flipping through the looks of their runway show. Add the perfect pale blue with a timeless silhouette and I am immediately suckered in. Not completely sure of my feelings on the matching eyebrows, but I am a fan of the blue streaked hair; which is a trend that I am happy to see is not going away.
Celebrity I would style this on: Keira Knightley at a photo call with some emerald jewels.

This neckline!! I mean, come on. Combine the most universally flattering neckline with flawless detailing and a beautiful muted color palette and you can just about style this on anyone. I am loving the flowyness (totally not a word) of this gown, but it might be too simplistic to wear on a red carpet. Therefore, you need a stunning woman to make this dress pop! (Minus the blue brows..)
Celebrity I would style this on: Margo Robbie with her dark hair in a sleek up-do (especially if she was presenting)

Okay, so when I first saw this, I was just like "nope!!" But then, I looked at it again and realized that the main reason I did not like it was because of the sheer skirt with the "granny panties" underneath. I am not the biggest fan of this trend, but if the celebrity has the right body for the gown, this could be gorgeous! The beautiful detailing on the top of the gown plus the whimsical lavender shade reminds me of Elie Saab in a lot of ways, but edgier. Once again with the matching purple brows though.... I don't really get what they are trying to accomplish there.
Celebrity I would style this on: Ariana Grande at the Grammy's! It is not really her style as of now, but it should be! [SIDE NOTE] I can definitely see Katy Perry wearing this but I would hate it. Just saying.

This dress is beautiful, flowing and chic. I love it. As a matter of fact, if I was a celebrity (or had a stupid amount of money) I would wear this gown. It has a beautiful shape, a timeless print and a beautiful array of purple hues. LOVE!
Celebrity I would style this on: Miranda Kerr with a vampy lip minus the awkward silver shoulder bow. This gown practically has her name written on it.

I hope that you all enjoyed my quick review on the Badgley Mischka RTW S15 runway show and keep an eye out for more runway reviews coming your way!

2013 AMA's: Best Dressed List!

Let the award show season commence! Yes, yes, I know that this was not the first award show this season, but it was the first award show with any type of actual fashion to occur so far. So, hence my first post about award show fashion, which is what I love the most. Here are my top ten!! Enjoy :)

10. Christina Aguilera: Wearing Maria Lucia Hohan
Christina is stunning in this dress. She has recently had a dramatic weight loss and what better way to show off your new figure than in a form fitting dress with a major slit? There are a few minor things that I do not care for about this look, including the fact that the gown does not hit the floor, which is a personal fashion pet peeve of mine. If this gown was barely gracing the floor she would be much higher on my top 10. Oh, and everyone who keeps saying Christina is too skinny now; leave the woman alone!! Too fat, too skinny... She's fabulous! Photo Credit (www.becauseiamfabulous.com)

9. Katy Perry: Wearing Oscar de la Renta
Katy has this unique way of wearing fashion that is somewhat kitchy. Although this dress does not follow my personal taste it goes along wonderfully with Katy's eccentric style and her outgoing personality. Between her cute hair, colorful lip, unique gown and book clutch, she is styled to perfection. Photo Credit (www.usmagazine.com)
8. Ariana Grande: Wearing Dolce & Gabbana
Ariana is so young and so green to this industry that I am impressed at her fashion evolution already. This a la Jessica Rabbit gown is so swanky and I love that. It is sexy while still being very appropriate for her age. The only thing that I wish, is that she would pick a new hair style. Photo Credit (www.becauseiamfabulous.com)
7. Kylie Jenner: Wearing Maiyet & Giambattista Valli
Kylie has such an edgy vibe to her that I love. You can tell that she has really come into her own unique look and I am loving it. This pants and cropped top look is very appropriate for the AMA's and she looks stellar. I am a fan of her rocker chic bangs and tousled hair. Those boots that she is rocking are doing her a ton of favors. Kudos to little Jenner; I dig it. Photo Credit (www.becauseiamfabulous.com)
6. Naya Rivera: Wearing Michael Kors
Naya is pictured on both sides (front and back) of this gown because the front is SOOO revealing that I wanted everyone to see how tailored the rest of the dress was. I would normally be opposed to showing that much cleavage any day of the week, but the fact that she is literally covered up everywhere else on her body makes it acceptable. She looks sexy without being skanky, so cheers to you Naya. You look hot. Oh, and did I mention how perfect her hair is? It's PERECT. Photo Credit (www.justjared.com)
5. Nicole Richie: Wearing Emilio Pucci
Nicole loves to wear Pucci and I don't blame her. If I was a celebrity with unlimited funds for my wardbrobe, Emilio Pucci would be my go to designer too. She looks sexy, classy, elegant, fearless, strong and feminine all at the same time. She is killer and so is the dress. So I am sure that you are wondering why, if I am so in love with this dress, is she at number 5? Well, as stunning as she looks, this dress is not the most flattering item she has ever put on and I am not thrilled with the hair styling or the jewelry choices. With all that said, Pucci and Richie still deserve a top 5 position. Photo Credit (www.becauseiamfabulous.com)
4. Miley Cyrus: Wearing Versace
Miss Miley in a Versace pantsuit. Should I repeat that? Pantsuit. Yes, for real. She kept it classy and moderately covered up for her red carpet look. I cannot say that much for her look later on in the night while performing, but she did impress at the beginning of the night. All white seemed to be the theme of the red carpet at the AMA's and Cyrus kept it edgy with some rocker embellishments. Regardless of how you feel about Miley, this look is beautiful. Photo Credit (www.dailymail.co.uk)
3. Alicia Silverstone: Wearing Nicole Miller
Okay, so yes, we are talking about Alicia Silverstone right now! As if! She might have been one of the people that fashion bloggers looked over but I am a fan of her style. May it be the fact that I am obsessed with the 1920-30's and the fashion that came from this time? Possibly. This art deco shift dress is just adorable. It is long enough to be classy but short enough to be sexy and the color of the dress mixed with the golden tone of her hair and makeup made for a beautiful ensemble. I love it, yes I do. Photo Credit (www.perezhilton.com)
2. Taylor Swift: Wearing Julien Macdonald
Okay so quick confession. Taylor is not my favorite. I think she has the entire American public fooled by this good girl act she has going on, but I do have to give her credit for one thing: always keeping it classy. I may not be her biggest fan but she is forever showing up in the classiest of get ups to every single event she attends and that is essentially what this blog was created upon: classy ladies wearing classy clothes and this gold sequin mini is no exception. The golden tone works perfect with her skin tone and she should never get rid of her perfectly golden hair with her dusty bangs. So kudos to you Ms. Swift, you have everyone fooled and you made number 2 on my list. Clearly you are doing something right my dear, or at least your publicist and stylist are. Photo Credit (www.perezhilton.com)
1. Kendall Jenner: Wearing Keepsake
Can we talk about this look please? Pretty little KJ, I am obsessed. You win! This Keepsake dress fits her body like a glove and she could not look any better. She is such a tiny little thing that all of the cutouts only do her body more favors. Plus, the addition of this insane Dylanlex Falkor statement necklace just sent her look over the top. The nude shoe kept it classy and I am officially a Kendall Jenner fashion follower. Photo Credit (www.eonline.com)

This Week in Celebrity Fashion

A couple of exciting events happened this week (well at least in my eyes!). First of which is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which, lets be honest, men and women everywhere enjoy ;). Second, world premiere's of the Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and if you love Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Banks style as much as I do, this week is thrilling for both of us!

So lets start off with the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. As much as there is to say about the sexy winged lingerie outfits that the angels sport on the runway, I have so much more to say about the fashion that was rocked at the after party on the "pink carpet". Most of the fashion was a little too scandalous for my personal taste, but some of the looks screamed classy sex appeal and I must give these ladies some credit! Here are my top 2 stand out classy ladies of the night.

1. Karlie Kloss: Rocking a Cushnie et Ochs white dress, Karlie was a vision of ultimate sexy sophistication. Although, the under boob in this frock is a bit much for my usual taste, because Karlie has such a "model figure" it actually works in her favor. With such a tall, tiny figure, showing off a little of whatever curves she does have is most certainly allowed. The just below the knee length of this dress keeps it from being too over the top sexy, plus her lack of accessories and simple black stilettos keep the look classy and simple with everything going on up top. Photo credit (www.styleite.com)
2. Monika Jagaciak: So, I wasn't going to post this look because after looking and looking and looking and looking and looking and looking and looking...... you get it... I just could not find the designer of the dress. I love to give credit to the designers because they worked so hard creating their pieces, but this dress was just too perfect not to add to this post. So, if anyone happens to know the designer, feel free to share your knowledge with me! Please! There are so many different cuts to the "oh so famous" little black dress, but this week, this cut is my favorite. I love the plunging neckline, swanky straps and conservative length. The contrasting fabric combined with the flare right below the knee gives that extra edge to a rather plain frock. Her effortless hair and lack of accessories say I'm sexy but I don't have to try to be and her classic black pumps compliment the simplicity in her style. Needless to say, simple and classic always wins in my book. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, did I say LOVE this look? Okay, I love it. Photo Credit (www.zimbio.com)

Switching gears to premiers (haha I rhymed. Go me!) Hunger Games: Catching Fire began their red carpet sweep across the world this week. I must say that I am slightly disappointed in the looks J. Law is giving us, but once again, extremely wowed by Elizabeth Banks and her killer fashion sense. E. Banks showed up J. Law in last years premiere's of the first Hunger Games movie but I was expecting Ms. Lawrence to come back with a vengeance on the red carpet this time around. I will still be watching for J. Law to step it up a notch in the upcoming premieres but as of now Ms. Banks is the fashionista on top. Here is how they are pairing up so far.

3. Elizabeth Banks: Donning an Elie Saab Couture number at the Berlin premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, E. Banks looks elegant and sophisticated in this sparkly gown. She kept it simple with neutral makeup, a glitzy clutch and glamorous loose waves. It seems as though Elie Saab is Elizabeth's go to designer for red carpet success. I distinctly remember two stellar Elie Saab looks that Ms. Banks rocked at last years premiere's of The Hunger Games. So kudos for having a designer relationship that works to your style benefit E. Banks; You most certainly have my stamp of fashion approval! Photo Credit (www.tomandlorenzo.com)
4. Jennifer Lawrence: She got it right in Rome. Sad to say but as of now, this is the only premiere gown that I am excited about. She obviously chose to wrap herself in a Dior Haute Couture gown. I understand that she is the new face of the brand, but it seems as though she will not wear any other designer. I can appreciate loyalty, but at the expense of your costar showing you up night after night, maybe it's time to try out some Prabal Gurung or Vera Wang for a change. This look shows off her beautiful soft curves while still having some modern architecture to it. The pale tone of the gown with the bright lip and new short hair J. Law is rocking create the perfect look. Now if she could only create more looks as stellar as this in her upcoming premieres I will be one happy J. Law fan! Photo Credit (www.catchingfirehungergames.com)

Moving along to my other favorite look of the week, a little street style for your soul.
5. Rachel Zoe: This blue suit could be risky to wear as a street style look, but considering it is styled to perfection, I just adore it. She donned this exquisite look at the Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Presentation at Paris Fashion Week. This suit is from her own collection which is probably why she was so precise when accessorizing this look. Black top, black bag, gold layered chain and chic sunglasses; this outfit is chic sophisticated boho and I cannot get enough. Rachel Zoe; you are queen. Photo Credit (www.elle.com)

I hope this was enough stellar fashion to finish off your work week. Any celebrity styles you come across that you would like to see featured in this blog? Comment below!  Until next time..

Fall Trend Alert!! Minus the leather looks

Leather seems to show up every fall as a seasonal staple. It gives any look that extra edge to really make heads turn. Personally, it's a fall necessity that I just can't get enough of, but that can tend to be rough on the pocket book. My solution: faux leather fashion to die for! You can find minus leather looks anywhere that are equally as eye catching as the real thing and much more practical for a day to day look. Some of my favorite spots to pick up these frugal finds include Express and H&M.

Not only can you find this fall fashion trend for a reasonable price, but there are so many different ways to style your favorite minus the leather items. Here are a couple of my personal favorites for this fall.

1. Black minus the leather shorts

These adorable little shorts are from Express and they are only $59.99. I am absolutely swooning for these right now (No, I don't own them.. YET!). I did try them on last week and I NEED them and I will have them. Soon. Yep. Okay. Moving on.
Pair them with a chunky off the shoulder sweater for a casual look with some leopard loafers or with an embellished glitzy top and black booties for a more glamorous look. You can even add polka dot, or printed tights to jazz your look up even more.

2. Cream colored faux leather jacket

This neutral tone minus the leather jacket is the perfect way to wear the leather trend in a soft way. It is also from Express for $118. If you feel like you wouldn't be able to rock the leather trend because it's too "edgy" this jacket is the perfect exception to the rule. I own this exact piece and it is my go to jacket for the day time in fall.
Pair this jacket with a t-shirt and jeans tucked into knee high flat boots for a casual day time look or wear it with a statement scarf, some fall colored skinnies and a nice pair of pumps for the perfect girls night out look.

3. Oxblood vegan leather peplum skirt

This little gem is from an online website called Mickey's Girl that I found via Pinterest for only $38. This skirt is everything right now. The perfect blend of sassy and sophisticated, edgy and classy all at the same time. I just recently found this item and will be owning it very soon! Mickey's Girl often does really insane sales, so I tend to wait for them before purchasing their items.
Pair it with a neutral sweater (like the one above) but fully tucked in with a pair of booties for a contemporary look or keep it classy with a black long sleeved scoop neck top, gold chain link necklace and nude pumps for a sexy date night look.

4. Army green faux leather leggings

Confession... I don't actually know where this picture of these leggings came from besides seeing them on Pinterest (Shhhh!.. Don't tell on me!). Seriously though, I had to put army green faux leather leggings on this post because I did just buy a pair of them at H&M last week that look almost identical, but unfortunately they do not have them listed on their website, hence why I just went out and hunted down this photo. Okay. Back to business. I bought these funky fresh leggings for $10! I tried them on and immediately became obsessed and then practically screamed out loud in excitement when I looked at the tag and didn't have to ponder over whether to buy them or not (DUH! Buy them! They are ten freaking dollars! No brainer!).
Pair these with a sheer long sleeve printed top and pumps for a fresh up to date look or with a neutral chunky knit and ballet flats for an edgy day time outfit.

5. Classic black faux leather pants

There is a reason that black leather skinnies come back every fall as the seasons most desired wardrobe staple. In case you couldn't guess the reason, it's because they are awesome. Yep. I said it. These particular pants are BB Dakota that I found on ShopBop and they are on sale for $70 which is exciting! You can find ones just like these for half the price at H&M as well which is even more exciting :)
Pair these with ANYTHING! No seriously, these pants could be styled a million different ways. My favorite ways to style them would be with a black top, colorful blazer, statement necklace and black high heeled boots for a edgy chic date night outfit or with a loose fitting sweater, chunky scarf and some flat knee high boots for a comfortable yet classy day time look.

Any minus the leather look that you choose this season will be sure to turn heads and make you feel like a seasoned fashionista! My secret to fashion success when it come to faux leather pieces is pairing them with something flirty and girly. It takes a rugged piece of fashion and allows it to be what I like to call "lady like with sass." No matter which look you choose to rock, always make sure that it is styled to fit your personality. Nothing is classier than a lady who is confident in who she is and what she is wearing so make sure to add your signature twist on this fall trend.

Have any questions on this fall trend? Feel free to post them below :)

Hello!

Hello lovelies! To kick off my first blog, I would like to share a little bit about myself and what inspired this new venture that I have chosen to embark on. Bare with me while I report my stats ;). My name is Denise Alexandra, I am 24 years old and recently became engaged to the man of my dreams! I live in the beautiful and always sunny Florida, where I was born and raised, but I would much rather be in New York City. I have three purrfect cats (see what I did there? haha) and way too much time on my hands. I am a bartender by trade but have a passion for fashion and all things with class. I hope that the inner workings of my sometimes unfocused brain will lead to your thorough entertainment in the near future! Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction and stay tuned for way more interesting posts to come :)
